GDPR and UK GDPR

The regulation is about personal data, and the first honest sentence is that Picazor is processing almost none. No account, no name, no email, no login. The one item that is qualifying is an IP address, held in memory for the length of the rate limit window under legitimate interest, the interest being that a free tool is not turned into a scraping farm by a script. It is not stored, not joined to a link, and not profiled.

The rights the regulation is giving you, access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, are all being honoured, and all of them are short conversations, because the data they would apply to is not being kept. Write to privacy@picazorlive.com and a person is answering.

ePrivacy and Cookies

The tool is setting no cookie of its own. The only cookies that may appear are from Google Analytics, if it is enabled, and those are listed on the cookies page with their names, their purpose, and the way to refuse them. There is no consent wall on the site because there is nothing on the site that is needing one beyond analytics, and analytics is being declared rather than hidden.

Copyright in the EU

Picazor is not hosting a single file. Every download is a real time fetch from Facebook's own servers, through our pipe, to your device, and nothing is being written to a disk on our side. There is no library of content here to license, filter or take down, because there is no library. The tool is reading public pages, the same pages a browser is reading, and it is refusing anything private by design.

We are not promoting infringement and we are saying so on every tool page in plain words. The use of a file is the responsibility of the person downloading it, and a rights holder who is wanting a specific post or pattern blocked from the tool is getting that through the process on the DMCA page, which we are honouring for EU notices as fully as for US ones.

Digital Services Act

Picazor is a small service with no user accounts, no recommender, no advertising system and no hosted content, which is placing it well outside the obligations written for platforms. What the Act is asking of every service, a working contact point and an honest process for notices, we are providing on the contact page and the DMCA page. Illegal content notices are being handled through the same inbox and on the same timelines.

California CCPA and CPRA

California is giving residents the right to know what is collected, to delete it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to not be discriminated against for asking. Picazor is not selling personal information and is not sharing it for cross context advertising, so a Do Not Sell or Share link would be pointing at nothing, and we are saying that here in words instead of adding an empty link.

A request to know is being answered with the list on the privacy page, an IP in memory for an hour and nothing else. A request to delete is already satisfied, because nothing is being retained. Write to privacy@picazorlive.com for either, and expect a reply from a person within the statutory window, usually far sooner.

Community Service, Not a Content Business

The site is run by Capital Technologies LTD as a community tool, open source, free, and supported by sponsors who are getting a logo on a wall and nothing else. There is no content business here, no upload, no library, no paywall. The laws above are being met not by a long document but by a short one, because a service that is keeping nothing is having very little to declare.
