Keep the Facebook
Reel the Feed Already Scrolled Past
Paste the reel link into this Facebook reels downloader and the MP4 is coming straight off Facebook's own servers, full vertical frame, sound in the same file, nothing re encoded on the way. No account, no app install, no watermark stamped in the corner.
Free. No signup. HD when Facebook is serving it.

A Reel Is a Video, So Why the Separate Tool
Because Facebook is playing reels through a different player and handing out a different link shape, and a downloader that is waiting for a watch page keeps missing them. The reel feed is a conveyor belt, the clip you liked at breakfast is a few hundred reels down the belt by lunch and the search box on Facebook is no help finding it again. So the link is the only handle you have. Understand this first, a reel link carries the reel id and nothing else, and we are reading it the reel way, pulling the same progressive MP4 the app itself is playing.
But is the sound coming with it?
Yes. Facebook is keeping picture and audio inside one file for reels, so there is no second track to merge and nothing that can drift out of sync. The file you are saving is the file the app is playing, put it that way.
Two qualities, usually. HD when the uploader gave Facebook HD, and SD as the fallback.
Three Taps in the App, One Paste Here
Open the reel in the Facebook app and tap the share arrow beside the clip.
Tap Copy link. Facebook is putting a short share link on your clipboard and that is the one we want.
Come back here, paste it into the bar above and press Download. A few seconds later the buttons are showing.
On desktop the address bar link works the same, facebook.com/reel/ followed by the number.
Every Reel Link We Are Reading
| Shape | Where it comes from | What happens to it |
|---|---|---|
facebook.com/reel/1234567890 | The desktop address bar while a reel is open | The cleanest shape. The number is the reel id and we are reading it directly. |
facebook.com/share/r/AbCdEf/ | Copy link in the app share sheet | A short code, so we are resolving it to the real reel first, then downloading. |
facebook.com/reels/1234567890 | Older links and the reels tab on some pages | Same id, plural path. Works the same. |
fb.watch/AbCdEf/ | Copy link on older app versions | A short link. Resolved before the download starts. |
How Reels Took Over the Facebook Feed
Everyone is calling Reels a TikTok copy and ok, that is fine, the timeline is not hiding it. But look at what happened after the copying, because that is the part explaining why you are on a downloader page for them at all.
Reels Arrive on Facebook in the US
Facebook is switching Reels on for every US user on iOS and Android, a full year after Instagram got them. Meta's own announcement is still up, read it here.
The Global Switch, 150 Countries at Once
Five months later the feature is going to more than 150 countries in one go, with creator payouts bolted on the same day, as the record shows. From that week a reel is a Facebook format, not an Instagram guest.
Two Hundred Billion Plays a Day
On the Q2 2023 earnings call Zuckerberg is telling analysts that Reels plays across Facebook and Instagram are passing two hundred billion a day, up from one hundred and forty billion the previous autumn, Music Ally reported. Two hundred billion. That is not a feature any more, that is the feed.
Reshared Three and a Half Billion Times a Day
Meta is reporting Reels being reshared three and a half billion times a day across its apps, a figure Hootsuite is carrying in its Facebook numbers. A reshare is someone sending the clip to someone else, which is the exact moment people go looking for a download button, because a share link is dying with the post and a file is not.
A Fifty Billion Dollar Run Rate
By the Q3 2025 call Reels is carrying an annual ad run rate above fifty billion dollars, per Tubefilter. Fifty billion dollars a year is not getting spent on a format people are scrolling past. That is not how ad money behaves.
What That History Is Meaning for the Download
So when a reel is going viral, the cooking clip, the wedding entrance, the goal from the Sunday league match that somehow got four million plays, thousands of people are hunting for a way to keep it the same evening, and the app is offering share, not save. That is the whole reason this page exists.
The use cases are plainer than the numbers. A creator keeping an archive of their own reels because the app is not offering an export. A family saving the clip a relative posted before that relative's account goes quiet. A teacher who found the perfect thirty second explainer and wants it in a lesson without a login wall in the classroom. A shop reusing its own product reel on a website, in full quality, without recording the screen.
And how to use the file once you have it? It is a normal vertical MP4. It is playing in any player, dropping into any editor, and posting anywhere the original poster is allowing it. Remember that last part when you press the button, the file is coming with the same manners the post came with.
When a Reel Is Not Downloading
Private Profiles and Friends Only Reels
If the reel is not public it is not reachable from outside, and there is nothing to fetch. Ask the person for the file, that is the only route.
Deleted Reels
The share link is staying in your clipboard long after the reel itself is gone. Paste a fresh one. If it is still failing, the clip has been removed.
Region Blocked Clips
Some uploaders are limiting where a reel plays. We are retrying through more than one region, and a few still stay out of reach.
Reels are one shape of the same thing. The bar above is reading all of them.
